A Vietnam Airlines Airbus A321-200, registration VN-A351 performing flight VN-1201 from Hanoi to Can Tho (Vietnam) with 177 passengers and 7 crew, was enroute at FL320 about 120nm northeast of Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) and about 190nm northeast of Can Tho when the crew decided to divert to Ho Chi Minh City after the first officer's windshield cracked. The aircraft landed safely on Ho Chi Minh City's runway 25L about 20 minutes later.

A replacement A321-200 registration VN-A392 performed the remaining 70nm "hop" to Can Tho and reached the destination with a delay of 3:20 hours.
