A replacement McDonnell Douglas MD-83 registration N872GA reached Newburgh with a delay of 3 hours.
The airline reported the aircraft had returned to Saint Petersburg the previous day due to a hydraulic leak, see Incident: Allegiant A320 at Saint Petersburg on Jun 1st 2016, hydraulic leak. The hydraulic line had been replaced, the crew was advised of the hydraulic problem the previous day. During departure the crew noticed a decreasing hydraulic fluid quantity and decided to return to Saint Petersburg, however, the quantity never dropped below the minimum quantity needed. Maintenance found no issue.
