A Flydamas Boeing 737-500, registration SU-KHM performing flight 4J-502 from Khartoum (Sudan) to Damascus (Syria), was enroute near Cairo when the crew reported problems with one of the engines (CFM56) and decided to divert to Cairo for a safe landing on runway 05L.

The aircraft, leased in from Alexandria Airlines, is still on the ground in Cairo about 10 hours later.
