A Jazz de Havilland Dash 8-100, registration C-GJMI performing flight QK-8001 from Toronto,ON (Canada) to Cleveland,OH (USA) with 14 people on board, was on final approach to Cleveland's runway 24R about 10nm before touchdown, when a bright flash and a very loud bang occurred in the cabin near seat row 1 and both DC generators went offline. The crew declared emergency and continued for a safe landing on runway 24R.

The Canadian TSB reported the airline requested third party maintenance to inspect the aircraft.

The occurrence aircraft was able to position back to Toronto after 22 hours on the ground but has not yet resumed service 53 hours after landing.
