A Qatar Airways Airbus A330-300, registration A7-AED performing flight QR-628 from Doha (Qatar) to Lahore (Pakistan), was on approach to Lahore's runway 18L when a bird impacted an engine (CF6). The aircraft continued for a safe landing on runway 18L.

The aircraft was unable to depart for the return flight QR-629 and is still on the ground in Lahore 17.5 hours after landing.

The passengers booked onto the return flight are estimated to depart Lahore the next morning on flight QR-621, which was upgraded from a Boeing 787-800 (254 passenger seats) to a Boeing 777-300 (Registration A7-BAB with 335 passenger seats). The flight is scheduled to arrive with a delay of 18 hours in relation to flight QR-629.
