An American Airlines Boeing 757-200, registration N183AN performing flight AA-1090 from Miami,FL to Chicago O'Hare,IL (USA), was enroute at FL370 about 160nm southeast of Atlanta,GA (USA) when the crew decided to divert to Atlanta due to a cracked windshield. The aircraft landed safely in Atlanta about 35 minutes later.

A replacement Boeing 757-200 registration N181AN reached Chicago with a delay of 8 hours.

The occurrence aircraft positioned back to Miami about 23 hours after landing.
