An Avianca Brazil Airbus A320-200, registration PR-OCO performing flight O6-6365 from Maceio,AL to Sao Paulo Guarulhos,SP (Brazil), was accelerating for takeoff from Maceio's runway 12 when the crew rejected takeoff at high speed due to an engine (CFM56) ingesting a bird. The aircraft slowed safely and returned to the apron.

The flight was cancelled.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Maceio about 12 hours after rejecting takeoff.
