A Cathay Pacific Boeing 777-300, registration B-KQH performing flight CX-255 from Hong Kong (China) to London Heathrow,EN (UK) with 248 people on board, was enroute at 9800 meters (FL321) about 120nm west of Chongqing (China) when the crew decided to divert to Chongqing due to a problem with the right hand engine (GE90). The aircraft landed safely on Chongqing's runway 02R about 90 minutes later.

A passenger reported the captain announced an engine problem and they were returning to Hong Kong, a short time later followed up stating the problem appeared worse than initially thought, the engine oil pressure was decreasing to very low levels and they were now diverting to Chongqing. The aircraft dumped fuel for about 20-30 minutes prior to landing.

The airline confirmed a low engine oil pressure indication.
