A Hebei Air Boeing 737-800, registration B-5660 performing flight NS-3299 from Shijiazhuang to Hangzhou (China), needed to divert to Changsa. The aircraft touched down, speed brakes extended, the aircraft bounced however, the crew attempted to increase the pitch in order to prevent a hard second touchdown resulting in a second touchdown with the tail contacting the runway surface and a vertical acceleration of +2.13G. The aircraft rolled out without further incident.

China's Civil Aviation Authority (CAAC) reported the tail skid assembly received minor damage due to insufficient situational awareness of the captain during landing failing to correct incorrect flight control inputs by the first officer, pilot flying, and failing to apply correct bounced landing recovery methodes. The first officer did not know the pitch limits for landing and incorrectly adjusted the flight trajectory with false thrust settings.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 5 hours, then continued the journey and reached Hangzhou with a delay of about 5 hours.
