A Nordwind Boeing 767-300, registration VQ-BRA performing flight NWS-4402 from Barcelona,SP (Spain) to Moscow Sheremetyevo (Russia), was enroute at FL320 about 180nm northeast of Barcelona when the crew initiated an emergency descent to FL100 due to the loss of cabin pressure and returned to Barcelona for a safe landing on runway 25R about 75 minutes after departure.

A replacement Boeing 767-300 registration VQ-BPT reached Moscow with a delay of 13.5 hours.

A passenger reported the passenger oxygen masks were released.

Rosaviatsia reported the aircraft experienced a critical cabin pressure drop resulting in oxygen masks being released and the oxygen generators activated. The crew received fault indications for automatic cabin pressure control followed by fault of manual cabin pressure control of the right hand air conditioning system and cabin altitude indications. The aircraft had been dispatched under minimum equipment list requirements with the left hand air conditioning system inoperative. The loss of cabin pressure was caused by a faulty valve controlling the inlet pressure of the right hand air conditioning system.
