SEAir A320 at Kalibo on Apr 14th 2016, burst tyre on landing

A SEAir Airbus A320-200, registration RP-C5323 performing flight XO-3091 from Seoul (South Korea) to Kalibo (Philippines) with 151 people on board, landed on Kalibo's runway 05 but burst one of the right hand main tyres. The aircraft stopped on the runway and was disabled. The passengers disembarked onto the runway and were bussed to the terminal.

The aircraft was subsequently towed off the runway.

A fire truck responding to the occurrence inadvertently fell into an irrigation canal causing minor injuries to two fire fighters. They were taken to a hospital. The fire truck needed to be recovered from the runway area.

The runway was closed for about 4 hours as result of the occurrence.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) confirmed the occurrence stating the aircraft landed at 14:42L (06:42Z). The airport was estimated to resume normal operation at 19:00L.

No Metars are available, the local weather station reported at 14:00L: visibility of 18km, light haze, temperature 33 degrees C, dew point 26 degrees C, 1010 hPa, winds from northnortheast at 14.4kph/8 knots.
