A Jet2.com Boeing 737-300, registration G-CELA performing flight LS-286 from Geneva (Switzerland) to Leeds,EN (UK), was on approach to Leeds' runway 32 when the crew stopped the descent at 3000 feet reporting problems with the flaps and entered a hold to work the checklists. Being unable to resolve the flaps problem the crew decided to take advantage of the longer runways at Manchester,EN (UK) and prepared for a landing at a higher than normal speed. The aircraft landed on Manchester's runway 23R at a higher than normal speed (170 knots over ground) about 50 minutes after aborting the approach to Leeds.

The airline confirmed the aircraft diverted to Manchester as a precaution due to the longer runways available. The passengers were subsequently bussed to Leeds.
