A Germania Boeing 737-700 on behalf of Air Berlin, registration D-AGEU performing flight AB-8893 from London Stansted,EN (UK) to Dusseldorf (Germany), was enroute when the first officer began to feel unwell. During the approach to Dusseldorf the health condition deteriorated to a point that the first officer was unable to fulfill his duties. The captain continued for a safe landing in Dusseldorf. The first officer was taken to a hospital.

Germany's BFU reported in their monthly bulletin that the first officer was diagnosed with an infection.
