A TAP Air Portugal Airbus A340-300, registration CS-TOB performing flight TP-72 from Rio de Janeiro Galeao,RJ (Brazil) to Lisbon (Portugal), was in the initial climb out of Rio's runway 10 when the crew stopped the climb at 7000 feet reporting a problem with the flaps. The aircraft dumped fuel for about 40 minutes and returned to Rio de Janeiro for a safe landing on runway 10 about one hour after departure.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Rio about 19 hours later.
