An Icelandair Boeing 757-200, registration TF-ISF performing flight FI-554 from Keflavik (Iceland) to Brussels (Belgium), was on approach to Brussels when the crew stopped the descent at 3000 feet and entered a hold reporting problems with the flaps. After working the checklists the crew indicated that they needed the longest runway available and would be landing at a higher than normal speed with slats extended but flaps retracted. The aircraft landed safely on Brussels' runway 25R at about 177 knots over ground and taxied to the apron.

The aircraft was able to depart for the return flight FI-555 after 2 hours on the ground.
