A Wideroe de Havilland Dash 8-100, registration LN-WII performing flight WF-688 from Tromso to Lakselv (Norway), was enroute at FL190 about 20 minutes into the flight when the left hand windshield cracked prompting the crew to return to Tromso for a safe landing about 50 minutes after departure.

The flight was cancelled, the passengers rebooked onto the next flight about 5 hours past original schedule.
