A Gol Linhas Aereas Boeing 737-800, registration PR-GUE performing flight G3-1402 from Brasilia,DF to Palmas,TO (Brazil), departed Brasilia's runway 11L and was assigned to maintain runway heading while climbing out, however turned right into the departure path of runway 11R.

At the same time an Avianca Brazil Airbus A320-200, registration PR-OCB performing flight O6-6291 from Brasilia,DF to Goiania,GO (Brazil), departed Brasilia's runway 11R and was assigned to turn right immediately after departure.

Air Traffic Control recognized the wrong turn by Gol and issued instructions to turn the aircraft back to the left defusing a possibly developing conflict.

Brazil's FAB announced that simultaneous departures from Brasilia's runways have been suspended while the investigation into the wrong turn are under way. About two weeks ago a FAB plane had also turned the wrong way in a simultaneous departure creating a conflict with the departing aircraft on the parallel runway.
