A Calm Air Avions de Transport Regional ATR-72-202, registration C-FCRZ performing flight MO-8684 from Rankin Inlet,NU to Thompson,MB (Canada) with 2 crew, was climbing out of Rankin Inlet when the crew received a smoke indication and returned to Rankin Inlet for a safe landing.

The Canadian TSB reported: "An inspection revealed that an oil leak in the engine compressor had migrated to the air conditioning pack which eventually set off the smoke indication."
