A Virgin Atlantic Boeing 747-400, registration G-VAST performing flight VS-44 (dep Feb 28th) from Las Vegas,NV (USA) to London Gatwick,EN (UK), landed on Gatwick's runway 08R at about 10:15L (10:15Z), rolled out safely, vacated the runway at the end and taxied to the terminal arriving at the gate at 10:20L.

The airport reported that the runway needed to be closed at about 10:15L due to an oil spill onto the runway, that needed to be cleaned up. The runway remained closed until 11:38L. 19 arriving flights needed to divert.

Radar data suggest, that G-VAST was the last movement on the runway before the runway was closed.

G-VAST is still on the ground in Gatwick about 12.5 hours after landing.
