A Delta Airlines Boeing 767-300, registration N153DL performing flight DL-80 from Atlanta,GA (USA) to Brussels (Belgium), was enroute at FL330 about 90nm northnorthwest of St. John's,NL (Canada) when the crew reported an elderly female passenger, travelling with her daughter, had suffered a heart attack, a doctor on board was providing first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation, the woman however remained unresponsive in a cardiac arrest, the doctor wouldn't formally pronounce her dead and recommended to divert. The aircraft landed safely on St. John's runway 29 about 22 minutes later. The patient was taken to a hospital.

Police reported the female in her late 60ies was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
