The passengers disembarked via mobile stairs and walked to the terminal in heavy rain.
The runway was closed for about one hour until the passengers had disembarked and the aircraft was moved off the runway.
Passengers complained that after being able to disembark they needed to walk to terminal for about 1.5km in heavy rain, no busses were available.
The flight was scheduled to land at 19:05L (17:05Z).
The occurrence aircraft was able to depart for the return flight TM-157 with a delay of about 3 hours.
On Dec 20th 2015, about 24 hours after the occurrence, the airline confirmed the runway overrun on their Facebook account stating C9-BAQ, flight TM-156, landed in Nampula in torrential rains and experienced difficulties during braking due to accumulation of water on the runway that caused hydroplaning. The aircraft's nose wheel went past the runway end onto the stop way by about one meter (editorial note: the passenger video clearly shows the main landing gear beyond the runway end marker lights). The aircraft was able to taxi to the apron by its own means, was properly inspected and returned to service.
On Dec 25th 2015 The Aviation Herald learned that Mozambique's Civil Aviation Authority rated the occurrence a serious incident and opened an investigation into the occurrence. According to preliminary information the aircraft touched down with 1300 meters of runway remaining.
Nampula features a runway 05/23 of 2000 meters/6560 feet length and offers RNP/RNAV approaches to both runways.
