An Air Canada Embraer ERJ-190, registration C-FHNX performing flight AC-113 from Ottawa,ON to Calgary,AB (Canada) with 87 people on board, was climbing through FL280 out of Ottawa when somebody noticed a number of screws separating from the left hand engine pylon. The crew declared emergency and returned to Ottawa for a safe landing about 45 minutes after departure.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance replaced a damaged anchor nut on an access panel to the left engine pylon.

NAV Canada reported that in response to the emergency two emergency vehicles entered runway 14/32 without clearance.

A replacement ERJ-190 reached Calgary with a delay of 7:40 hours.
