An American Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration N126UW performing flight AA-782 from Tampa,FL to Philadelphia,PA (USA) with 135 people on board, was climbing through FL160 out of Tampa's runway 01L when the crew needed to shut the left hand engine (CFM56) down due to zero oil pressure and overtemperature and returned to Tampa for a safe landing on runway 01L about 40 minutes after departure and taxied to the apron with emergency services in trail.

The Aviation Herald learned the engine's IDG (integrated drive generator) had been replaced the previous night.
