A Lufthansa Airbus A321-200, registration D-AISW performing flight LH-993 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Frankfurt/Main (Germany), was in the initial climb out of Amsterdam's runway 24 at about 14:50L (13:50Z) when the crew reported a lightning strike and requested to turn left to avoid the weather, tower confirmed seeing the lightning strike, cleared the left turn and inquired whether operations were normal. The crew reported that everything was displaying okay and continued the flight for a safe landing on Frankfurt's runway 25R about 50 minutes after departure.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Frankfurt 33 hours after landing.
