An Aeroflot Airbus A320-200, registration VQ-BRV performing SU-1422 from Moscow Sheremetyevo to Chelyabinsk (Russia) with 148 passengers and 6 crew, landed on Chelyabinsk's runway 09 at about 18:37L (13:37Z) but went right off the runway temporarily before the crew was able to regain directional control and steered the aircraft back onto the runway, where the aircraft stopped without further incident. No injuries occurred, the aircraft received minor if any damage.

Ural's Transport Investigation Commission reported that the left hand thrust reverser malfunctioned causing the aircraft to veer right with the right hand main gear leaving the runway edge. There were no injuries, the aircraft sustained no visible damage. An investigation into the occurrence was opened.

The airport reported that the aircraft was landing in marginal weather conditions and deviated from the runway center line.

Passengers reported the aircraft turned sharply after touch down, the passengers believed the aircraft was spinning around.
