An American Airlines Boeing 757-200, registration N673AN performing flight AA-1780 from Aruba (Aruba) to Miami,FL (USA) with 185 passengers and 6 crew, was in the initial approach through about FL380 about 130nm southeast of Miami when the aircraft encountered about 15 seconds of turbulence causing injuries to two cabin crew and 10 passengers. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on Miami's runway 09 about 25 minutes later. 2 flight attendants and 3 passengers were taken to a hospital, 7 passengers were treated at the medical facilities at the airport.

The airline confirmed their aircraft encountered turbulence in the initial descent towards Miami, two flight attendants and three passengers were taken to a hospital, a handful of passengers were treated at the airport's medical facilities.

Emergency services reported they had 12 patients, five of which were taken to a hospital, the others treated at the airport.

The FAA confirmed on Jul 11th that 2 cabin crew and 3 passengers received minor injuries as result of turbulence.
