An American Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration N957AN performing flight AA-334 from Las Vegas,NV to Chicago O'Hare,IL (USA) with 162 people on board, was climbing out of Las Vegas' runway 25L when the crew reported they had just hit a big bird, needed to return to Las Vegas for an overweight landing and declared emergency. The aircraft joined a left downwind and landed safely on runway 25L about 10 minutes after departure.

The flight was cancelled.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Las Vegas 33 hours after landing.

On Nov 10th 2015 the FAA reported the aircraft received minor damage and rated the occurrence an incident.
