A Lufthansa Boeing 747-800, registration D-ABYN performing flight LH-754 from Frankfurt/Main (Germany) to Bangalore (India), was climbing out of Frankfurt when the crew stopped the climb at FL230, descended the aircraft to FL200, dumped fuel and returned to Frankfurt for a safe landing on runway 25C about 90 minutes after departure. The aircraft taxied to the apron with emergency services in trail.

A replacement Boeing 747-800 registration D-ABYG departed Frankfurt 3 hours after D-ABYN landed back and is estimated to reach Bangalore with a delay of 4.5 hours.

A passenger reported the captain announced they had been informed hydraulic fluid had been found on a taxiway and one of their hydraulic systems wasn't working. The passenger observed maintenance staff examining the main gear area after the aircraft stopped at the stand.
