A Pobeda Boeing 737-800, registration VQ-BAW performing flight DP-275 from Moscow Vnukovo to Kirov (Russia) with 162 people on board, landed on Kirov's runway 21 at 20:29L (17:29Z) but veered to the edge of the runway taking out a number of runway edge lights before returning to the runway center line.

The return flight the following morning was cancelled.

The aircraft resumed service 44 hours after landing.

Volga's Transport Investigation Department reported the 136 passengers booked onto the return flight were rebooked onto other flights. The Department opened an investigation into the runway excursion.

No Metars are available, the local weather station reported winds of 4 knots from northwest, temperature +1 degrees C, dew point -1 degrees C, visibility 20km, QNH 1016 hPa, partly cloudy at 19:00L and winds of 2 knots from westnorthwest, temperature 0 degrees C, dew point 0 degrees C, visibility 2km, QNH 1017 hPa and heavy snowfall at 22:00L.
