A Lufthansa Airbus A320-200, registration D-AIPA performing flight LH-1679 from Budapest (Hungary) to Munich (Germany), was descending towards Munich when the crew reported smoke in the cockpit. Prior to landing the crew advised the smoke had dissipated and continued for a safe landing on Munich's runway 08R and taxied to the apron with emergency services in trail.

The aircraft remained on the ground for 13 hours before resuming service the following morning.
