A CSA Czech Airlines Avions de Transport Regional ATR-72-212A, registration OK-GFQ performing flight OK-522 from Prague (Czech Republic) to Dusseldorf (Germany), was climbing through FL190 out of Prague when the crew needed to shut the left hand engine down due to a suspected fuel leak. The aircraft returned to Prague for a safe landing about 45 minutes after departure.

A replacement ATR-42-500 registration OK-KFO reached Dusseldorf with a delay of 2 hours.

On Jan 13th 2016 the Czech UZPLN reported in their quarterly bulletin that about 20 minutes into the flight the crew noticed a possible fuel leak on the left hand engine and carried out the related checklists, which required the shut down of the engine. The crew declared PAN and returned to Prague for a safe landing on runway 06, emergency services checked the aircraft on the runway, the aircraft subsequently taxied to the apron where passengers disembarked normally. The examination of the engine confirmed a fuel leak at the connection of the ACW generator to the reduced gear box. The related maintenance procedure cleared the fault.
