An ANA All Nippon Airways Boeing 737-500, registration JA8195 performing flight NH-1282 from Niigata to Fukuoka (Japan) with 120 people on board, was enroute at FL360 about 110nm north of Osaka's Kansai Airport when the crew received abnormal indications of the left hand engine (CFM56) and decided to divert to Kansai Airport for a safe landing about 30 minutes later.

The remainder of the flight was cancelled, the passengers were rebooked onto other flights.
