A Vietjet Airbus A320-200, registration VN-A650 performing flight VJ-496 from Banmethuot to Hanoi (Vietnam), was on approach to one of Hanoi's runways 11 at around 19:20L (12:20Z) when a bird impacted and reshaped the radome of the aircraft also causing damage to the weather radar. The aircraft continued for a safe landing and taxied to the gate.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 14 hours before resuming service.

The airline confirmed the aircraft suffered a bird strike causing damage to radome and weather radar. The airline is suffering from an increasing number of bird strikes lately.
