An Expressjet Canadair CRJ-200 on behalf of Delta Airlines, registration N855AS performing flight EV-4919/DL-4919 from Atlanta,GA to Peoria,IL (USA), stopped the climb out of Atlanta at FL260, subsequently the crew decided to divert to Evansville,IN (USA) reporting a fuel imbalance and being unable to transfer fuel from one tank to the other and requested right hand turns only. Winds were calm and approach control planned the aircraft for a landing to Evansville runway 04, active runway 22, however the aircraft came in too high and plans were changed for runway 22. Tailwinds developed for runway 22, plans were changed again, on final approach to runway 04 the crew advised they were unable to verify or rule out a fuel leak causing the fuel imablance. The aircraft landed safely on runway 04, vacated the runway and stopped on the adjacent taxiway requesting emergency services to check whether they did have a fuel leak. Emergency services reported the aircraft looked good, nothing out of the ordinary observed. The aircraft subsequently taxied to the apron.

The remainder of the flight was cancelled.
