A PAL Philippine Airlines Airbus A340-300, registration RP-C3438 performing flight PR-101 from Honolulu,HI (USA) to Manila (Philippines) with 132 passengers, was enroute over the Pacific Ocean when the aircraft encountered clear air turbulence resulting in minor injuries to 15 occupants. The aircraft continued to Manila where the aircraft landed safely, medical services were awaiting the aircraft and took 15 occupants, a number of them in wheelchairs, to a hospital.

The CAAP (Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines) reported two occupants received injuries and 10 hurt their backs when the aircraft encountered clear air turbulence enroute.

The airline reported that 15 passengers received minor injuries when the aircraft encountered clear air turbulence enroute to Manila.

Passengers reported that everything loose, including those passengers not belted into their seats, were thrown against the ceiling and fell back down.
