An Omni Air Boeing 767-300, registration N378AX performing flight OY-560 from Fort Drum,NY (USA) to Shannon (Ireland) with about 200 troops, was climbing out of Fort Drum when the crew stopped the climb at 10,000 feet reporting flight control problems and decided to return to Fort Drum for a safe landing at a higher than normal speed about 40 minutes after departure.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 15 hours then was able to depart again and is estimated to reach Shannon with a delay of about 15.5 hours.
