A Delta Airlines Airbus A330-300, registration N818NW performing flight DL-245 from Rome (Italy) to New York JFK,NY (USA), was enroute at FL360 about 700nm southwest of Iceland when the crew declared emergency reporting they were down to one electrical generator and decided to divert to Keflavik (Iceland), the crew advised they expected a normal landing. The aircraft landed safely on Keflavik's runway 02 about two hours later.

The occurrence aircraft was able to continue the journey as flight DL-9861 after about 27 hours on the ground and reached New York with a delay of 30 hours.

On Sep 1st 2015 the Canadian TSB reported the aircraft had been dispatched with the right hand generator inoperative. In cruise the crew received a fault message for the APU, attempts to reset the APU generator failed, the crew declared emergency and diverted to Keflavik.
