A First Air Boeing 737-200, registration C-FNVK performing flight 7F-890 from Cambridge Bay,NU to Yellowknife,NT (Canada) with 9 people on board, was on approach to Yellowknife when the crew selected flaps 1, however, only the leading edge flaps moved, the trailing edge flaps remained retracted and refused to move despite multiple attempts to recycle the flaps. An alternate flaps extension ended in the same result. The crew declared emergency, prepared for a flaps up landing and performed a safe landing on Yellowknife's runway 34 and taxied to apron advising, that no further assistance was needed.

The Canadian TSB reported: "The company will advise TSB on any maintenance findings."
