An Allegiant Boeing 757-200, registration N906NV performing flight G4-514 from Las Vegas,NV to Fresno,CA (USA) with 153 passengers and 7 crew, was climbing out of Las Vegas' runway 01R when the left hand engine (RB211) emitted a loud bang and streaks of flame. The crew declared emergency, stopped the climb at 6500 feet and returned to Las Vegas for a safe landing on runway 25R about 12 minutes after departure.

A replacement McDonnell Douglas MD-88 reached Fresno with a delay of 3.5 hours.

The airline reported the engine suffered a compressor stall, there was no fire indication, the engine continued to operate at reduced thrust.
