A passenger reported flight attendants announced that the left hand engine had been shut down due to an oil leak, an inflight diversion was to commence. A few minutes later the captain announced, that only 19 minutes of flying time to Washington remained and they would continue to Dulles Airport therefore. After touch down aircraft braking was stronger than usual (passenger said: "subjective passenger observation"), the aircraft turned off the runway onto a high speed taxiway and stopped diagonally to the runway for emergency services inspecting the engine and brakes. The aircraft subsequently taxied to the gate on own power with emergency services in trail, who checked the aircraft another time at the gate.
