A CAA Compagnie Africaine Aviation Fokker 50, registration 9Q-CJB performing flight FKY-8324 from Goma to Kisangani (Democratic Republic of Congo), had undergone maintenance prior to departure. Maintenance and crew decided to take the aircraft out for a test flight before boarding passengers and the aircraft backtracked runway 36 for departure to that test flight and was turning around to align with the runway, when the main gear collapsed leaving the aircraft disabled on the runway. There were no injuries, the damage to the aircraft is being assessed but appears to be minor.
