A Delta Airlines Boeing 767-300, registration N143DA performing flight DL-2469 (dep Jul 15th) from Anchorage,AK to Atlanta,GA (USA) with 255 passengers and 7 crew, was enroute at FL350 about 100nm north of Seattle,WA (USA) when the right hand engine (PW4060) surged emitting a bang and streaks of flames. The crew reduced the thrust to idle and diverted to Seattle for a safe landing about 40 minutes later.

The airline stated that the engine surged, the crew followed surge procedures, throttled the engine back and diverted to Seattle.
