An Easyjet Airbus A320-200, registration G-EZUR performing flight U2-2086 from Tel Aviv (Israel) to London Luton,EN (UK), was enroute at FL340 about 110nm west of Paphos (Cyprus) when the crew turned east and diverted to Paphos due to a male passenger (61) who was obviously intoxicated and became more and more hostile and aggressive until the crew decided the safety of flight was threatened. The aircraft landed safely on Paphos' runway 29, the unruly was arrested by Cyprus police.

The aircraft departed Paphos after about 2:20 hours on the ground and reached Luton with a delay of 3 hours.

Cyprus Police reported the drunk man is being charged of conducting disorderly, causing a public disturbance, swearing in public and threatening to use violence. The man will most likely have to answer for at Paphos District Court.

A passenger reported the man was uttering religious rants and needed to be constrained.
