A Kuwait Airways Airbus A300-600, registration 9K-AME performing flight KU-361 from Kuwait (Kuwait) to Colombo (Sri Lanka), was enroute at FL310 about 80nm west of Dubai's Al Maktoum Airport when the crew decided to divert to Al Maktoum Airport reporting an engine (CF6) problem. The aircraft landed safely on Al Maktoum's runway 30 about 30 minutes later.

The airline reported flight KU-361 suffered a technical defect in one of the engines and diverted to Dubai's Al Maktoum Airport.

A replacement Airbus A300-600 registration 9K-AMB was dispatched to Dubai and reached Colombo as flight KU-1361 with a delay of 16:45 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground about 25 hours after landing.
