An Aegean Airbus A320-200, registration SX-DGK performing flight A3-940 (dep Jun 21st) from Athens (Greece) to Amman (Jordan), was enroute at FL370 over the Mediterranean Sea about 70nm northwest of Tel Aviv (Israel) when the crew received a cargo smoke indication and diverted to Tel Aviv for a safe landing on runway 26 about 18 minutes later. Attending emergency services did not find any trace of fire, heat or smoke.

Following examination the occurrence aircraft continued the flight, climbed to FL110 enroute and reached Amman with a delay of 3.5 hours.
