An Air Canada Embraer ERJ-190, registration C-FHNP performing flight AC-692 from Toronto,ON to St. John's,NL (Canada), was enroute at FL370 about 90nm north of Bangor,ME (USA) when the crew reported an electrical smell in the cabin and decided to divert to Bangor. Descending to Bangor the crew advised that there was no fire or smoke, just an electrical smell in the cabin which had dissipated in the meantime, they needed to run a couple of checklists and requested a delaying vector, flew basically a 360 and continued for a safe landing on Bangor's runway 15 about 35 minutes after leaving FL370.

A replacement ERJ-190 registration C-FHIU was dispatched to Bangor and delivered the passengers to St. John's with a delay of 8 hours.

On Jun 30th 2015 the Canadian TSB reported that an acrid electrical odour was noticed between seats 17A-C and 19A-C. The crew disabled the inflight entertainment system, but the odour persisted intermittently prompting the crew to divert to Bangor. The "Fasten Seat Belt" sign in row 18A-C was identified as source of the odour, the sign was replaced.
