An Egypt Air Boeing 737-800, registration SU-GDA performing flight MS-787 from Cairo (Egypt) to Munich (Germany) with 111 passengers, was enroute at FL360 over the Mediterranean Sea about 110nm northnorthwest of Alexandria (Egypt) when the crew turned around and returned to Cairo due to a failed weather radar. The aircraft landed safely back in Cairo about 80 minutes after departure.

A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration SU-GED reached Munich with a delay of 4.5 hours.
