Delta B738 at New York and Phoenix on Jun 10th 2015, blew tyre on takeoff, 3000 feet of rubber to pick up

A Delta Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration N386DA performing flight DL-2832 from New York JFK,NY to Phoenix,AZ (USA) with 132 passengers and 6 crew, departed JFK's runway 31L without any obvious problem and climbed to cruise level. On approach to Phoenix the crew advised ATC that they had probably blown a tyre, tower cleared the aircraft for a low approach to runway 26, the crew advised they'd like to land right away and were cleared to land runway 26. The aircraft landed safely on runway 26, tower advised all appeared to be normal. The aircraft vacated the runway and was towed to the apron.

Maintenance replaced a tyre.

The aircraft resumed service after about 3 hours on the ground in Phoenix.

On Jun 11th 2015 the FAA reported: "AIRCRAFT HAD A POSSIBLE BLOWN TIRE. JFK AIRPORT HAD 3000 FEET OF RUBBER TO PICK UP."
