A UTAir Boeing 737-500, registration VQ-BJT performing flight UT-500 from Anapa to Moscow Vnukovo (Russia) with 15 passengers, was accelerating for takeoff from Anapa's runway 04 when an engine (CFM56) ingested a bird prompting the crew to reject takeoff. The aircraft slowed safely and returned to the apron.

The passengers were rebooked onto the next flight.

The occurrence aircraft reached Moscow as flight UT-500 the following day with a delay of 31 hours.
