An Air France Boeing 777-300, registration F-GZNB performing flight AF-275 from Tokyo Narita (Japan) to Paris Charles de Gaulle (France) with 295 passengers and 17 crew, was enroute at FL300 about 50nm south of Khabarovsk (Russia) when the crew reported a problem with the left hand engine (GE90) and decided to divert to Khabarovsk for a safe landing on runway 23L about 40 minutes later.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 7 hours, then departed for Tokyo Haneda (Japan), climbed to FL350 and landed safely at Tokyo's Haneda Airport about 2 hours later.

Russia's Rosaviatsia as well as Khabarovsk Airport reported the left hand engine failed prompting the crew to divert to Khabarovsk.

Russia's Far Eastern Transport Prosecutor reported the crew reported a decreasing engine oil quantity for the left hand engine and decided to divert to the nearest aerodrome at Khabarovsk.

The airline reported the scheduled itinerary of the aircraft had been changed showing the aircraft now at Tokyo Haneda Airport following its diversion to Khabarovsk.
